HONDURAS!

I leave for Honduras in less than 3 days now.
It's so crazy.
It seemed like it was taking forever to get here, and now I feel like I don't have enough time before I leave!

I'm so excited! I know that God is definitely in control because I'm not nervous, at all. (Which is a huge deal if you know me.)

Also, I raised $300 over what I needed to for the trip. Which is awesome, because it'll help other people on my trip be able to pay for theirs.
That was such an indicator from God that this trip is what's right for me.
When I decided one night, at dinner, with my parents that I wanted to go on a medical trip this summer, I had NO idea it would end up a reality. So I pursued it and prayed that if this was not what God wanted for me this summer that he would make it obvious. That he would close the door and it wouldn't happen.

But everything fell perfectly into place. And I absolutely cannot wait to come back a week from Saturday and tell about all that he has done!

Bridge to Haven

Y'all. I hardly ever read for fun. It's just so hard for me to find a book that holds my interest.
But Francine Rivers has never failed me.
I've read some her books over and over.

Her newest one, Bridge to Haven, is a-mazing.
Go read it. NOW.

The way she tells of God's grace and faithfulness through her stories is unlike anything I've ever read (besides the Bible, that's got a lot of good stuff about God in it, too!)

So, I just needed to share this.
Because I cried within the first 20 pages because it's THAT GOOD.
And I read all 460-something pages in just a few days.
Which is saying something since the last book I read before this one took me five months to finally finish. {It was Stiff by Mary Roach, if you're into weird, medical, cadaver-y things... I'd suggest that one too! It wasn't bad, I was just swamped with school and work and never took time to read. It was disgustingly fascinating.}

First post!

So, I've been pondering starting a blog for a while now.
I made an attempt once with tumblr. It lasted about 2 days.
But then my sweet friend Sarah Cockerham posted a facebook status about starting a blog and it reminded me of wanting to start one for myself.

Here goes nothing.

I don't even really know what to blog about.
But I know that there's a lot I want to share about my Jesus.
His goodness in my life.
His faithfulness.
And I fully expect great things to happen this summer because of Him.

I'm taking the MCAT June 21 (CRAZY that I'm old enough to be entering this stage of my life.)
I'm going on a medical mission trip with my church to Honduras the first week of June. (Shoutout to my church, my sweet sweet friends and family who have supported me financially and through prayer, and to Dr. Schex for faithfully leading this trip year after year)
AND in the fall, I will be applying to med school.
There's no guarantees I'll get in, and I'm nervous as heck. but that's life. And enough for another blog post in itself.

So, please join me on this journey.
I can promise you my life is hardly ever dull.
I hardly ever get a break from work/school/babysitting/church/sailing (yes, i race sailboats) but i wouldn't have it any other way.
